What is Solid Waste?
Solid Waste may include the garbage’s from the home’s, unused furniture, metal scrap, plastic bottles, construction wastes, metal wastes from industries, etc. The main source of the solid wastes is construction waste, domestic waste, waste from working areas like offices and large organizations. The more hazardous electronic wastes will also come under this category, the electronic wastes may contain the materials which must be disposed of very safely. Some waste’s like plastic must be disposed of or recycled in a manner that it won’t produce any effect on the environment.
Sources of Solid Waste:
The main source of the solid waste is the construction areas. They produce the waste materials like concrete wastes, metal waste, wood materials, etc.
The most common wastes that are from construction areas are wiring cables, nails, dredging materials, bricks, etc. The other common source of solid waste is from home. The wastes like plastic materials, garbage wastes, etc tend to come from the domestic areas. The household wastes also contain materials like old solvents, fertilizers, paints, pesticides, etc. which must be decomposed in a safe manner. The other big waste source is the Electronic waste. The electronic wastes include discarded electronic devices, damaged parts from computers, etc. The electronic waste may contain chemical agents like lead, cadmium or beryllium. they must be disposed of in a safe manner as the improper disposal will result in significant risk to the people and the environment as well.
Solid Waste Management:
In Construction areas, the wastes can be controlled by sending the waste materials to back to the recycling plant, for instance, the metal scraps can be sent to the recycling plant and can be used in warping the new steel materials. The wood wastes may be crushed and used for various other purposes.
The proper way to dispose of the domestic waste is that the household wastes can be handed over to the waste clearance companies as they will take care of disposing of them in a safe and eco-friendly way. This is the easy and safe to dispose of the domestic wastes.
The more care must be taken to dispose of the electronic waste as the improper disposal may lead to very dangerous hazardous effects to the human beings and also for the environment. So the electronic wastes must be handed over to the waste clearance company, who will take care of removing the electronic waste in a more safe way.
The things to keep in mind while disposing of a waste is that whether it is decomposable or not. The decomposable wastes can be cleared in an easy way when compared to the other. The wastes like plastic, metal scraps, etc must be used for recycling whereas waste clearance companies will take of clearing the wastes which is difficult to dispose of.
