Futuristic Waste Management Strategies

Waste Management is the biggest challenge to protect our environment from disasters. The process is following before the centuries, but the growth of waste generation increases with respect to the growth of the world. According to statistics, the generation of waste increases with the increase of population growth and economic development of a country. Many countries are following the waste management process properly, but it is the biggest challenge for many low-income countries. A survey from World Bank is commonly known as What a Waste 2.0. The Waste 2.0 Shows that over 2.04 billion tons of solid wastes are generated globally, it excludes all the air pollutants and liquids. It will be raised up to 70% i.e., 3.01 billion tons within 30 years. To reduce waste generation and to prevent the environment, here are the best futuristic waste management strategies.

Futuristic Waste Management Strategies

Futuristic Waste Management Strategies

The word futuristic means the use of technology and modern equipment. We delivered the modern techniques to overcome the failure of old techniques.

  1. Waste Prevention
  2. Waste Minimization
  3. Biological Treatment
  4. Incineration

Waste Prevention

There is a number of waste management techniques, they can be done to eliminate the reduced waste. The best alternative for effective waste management is the prevention of waste generation. The wastes are generated everywhere from transportation, manufacturing while using, and after the usage of products. We cannot avoid the use of products, but we can reduce the waste generated during manufacturing. The use of non-hazardous materials, a modern leakage detection system, chemical neutralization technology, and water-saving technology will reduce waste generation.

Waste Prevention

Waste Minimization

Waste minimization is the process of reducing the generation of waste at the early stage. It means to use of reusable products which prevent natural sources. Many manufacturing companies have turned to effective waste minimization. For example, dry cleaning industries use tetrachloroethylene, which is more hazardous. So, they replace their source of cleaning by eliminating the toxic elements including petroleum products.

Biological Treatment

This biological treatment is effective for the organic wastes that are dumped into landfills. Since landfill disposal is banned in European countries, they use techniques like aerobic composting, anaerobic digestion, and mechanical-biological treatment (MBT). For this process, the wastes are separated as organic materials and inorganic compounds. Organic materials like food waste, garden waste, animal manure, and other naturally decomposing bacteria are treated under aerobic composting or anaerobic digestion. MBT means both mechanical and biological methods, the mechanical method is useful for segregating, collecting, and crushing the wastes and the wastes are treated under any two of the methods. This will result in pure fertilizer for agriculture.

Incineration

There are many futuristic waste management techniques, but incineration is the best on both old and new strategies. This method involves the burning of wastes in a safe manner. The wastes are a major producer of biogas while burnt. This biogas is helpful in producing electricity, and it will be more effective by reducing the usage of natural raw materials like coal, wood, and water required to run a powerplant.
