Tips For Converting Waste Into Energy

Wastes are generated in an abundant manner from domestic areas, industrial areas, organizational areas, etc. The waste material may contain both decomposable and non-decomposable materials in it. The special care must be taken to segregate the wastes and to dispose of them safely in an eco-friendly manner. The decomposable materials can be processed and converted into energy.

waste to energy

Waste treatment is the process of generating electricity or heat energy from the decomposable waste materials. The waste materials are collected in the large amount from the domestic and industrial areas, They are then dumped into large pits. Later these wastes are burned to produce the heat energy. Thus, in this case, the waste is converted into thermal energy. Now, this thermal energy is converted into the electric energy by turning the turbine on.

Another energy source from the garbage wastes is methane gas. The methane gas is produced from the waste decays which can be used as a fuel. The Kitchen wastes can be utilized well to generate energy.

Steps to convert kitchen waste into energy:

waste energyInitially, the wastes are separated into dry wastes and wet wastes. These wastes are stored in separate trash cans. Once the cans are full the wastes are dumped into composts. The compost is also filled with dry leaves. The semi-composted materials like buttermilk, cow dung, etc are added to start the decomposition process. The pile is turned around daily to make sure that it is maintained at the right level of dampness. If the pile is too wet then the dry leaves are added. If the pile is too dry then water is added. The compost is left as like for more than a month to decompose. After two months the compost will turn out into a manure which can be used in agricultural fields.

waste energyThe bio-degradable wastes can be converted into energy or manure. Whereas the non bio-degradable wastes must be taken care to dispose of safely in an eco-friendly manner. The non decomposable wastes like plastics, rubber tires, etc are sent to the recycling plant for reuse. Other waste materials like metal scraps, glasses are also treated in the same way. Throwing of the wastes into the agricultural lands must be avoided in order to preserve the environment. Burning of plastic wastes and rubber tires will produce toxic gases which are injurious to human health and hazardous to the environment as well. The waste clearance companies will involve in recovering the solid wastes and disposing of them in a safe eco-friendly manner.
